The
Making of

PRODUCTION
As
always, we used live action puppetry techniques as opposed to
stop motion animation. We feel that this looks best and gives
the audience the feeling of playing with toys, instead of the
choppy look of stop motion, (though stop motion can be done
well using dolls with more articulation points).
As cameraman and head puppeteer i was often filming with one
hand and performing puppetry with the other. Puppetry was also
performed by Sebastian and Carla.
Often
we would build a set on an adjustable table with a fold-out
extension. This way we could have a floor when we wanted one
but remove it when we needed to without disrupting the set.
We
used both Hasbro and McFarlane Alien/Predator toys and expanded
the toy universe with action figures and playsets of many kinds,
including Fisher Price (action figures, vehicles and playsets),
Kenner's Glamour Gals (dolls and playsets), and of course, Star
Wars (action figures, vehicles and playsets).
