In the past, movies just revolve around real life characters and situations, but nowadays, there are already several films that were based on Toys that are usually just played by kids.
Before, toys are just made to be played by kids, but before 1977, movies are already made based on toys by the different toy companies. Most of the toy films are based on action figures and dolls. As what I have observed, kids will be more interested to buy the toys that they have seen in movies.

1. Barbie (film series)

Barbie is produced by Mattel Entertainment and has been the favorite doll of the young girls. Barbie’s first appearance was in 1987 and the movie was entitled: Barbie and the Rockers: Out of this world. After that, Barbie movies were mostly based on her being a princess, a heroine or a fairy with all the magic. As of October 2016, there are already 34 Barbie films in different series.Aside from their own film, Barbie also appeared in several films that were also based on toys like, My scene and Toy Story. Barbie comes in DVDs but also aired in Nickelodeon.

2. Transformers (film)

This movie is not only for kids, adults are also getting hooked into it making them wait patiently for the release date of each upcoming sequel. This movie is all about robots transforming into different vehicles in a live action film and a science fiction. The movie is directed by Michael Bay. The story revolves around two groups of alien robots disguising themselves as vehicles and how they were discovered by human and science. The two main groups of alien robots are the Autobots which are the heroic robots and the Decepticons which are the villainous robots. It is first released in 2007 and has its 4th film as of the year 2014 and will release its 5th movie on the year 2017.

3. Toy Story

By the name itself, Toy Story is a film about toys being secretly alive and having their own life not known by humans. In this film, toys being in love, having feelings of their own and being able to survive all the challenges that comes their way together, helping each other. The first movie was released in 1995, Toy Story 2 was released in 199, Toy Story 3 in 2010 and Toy Story 4 is under ongoing production that is known to be released in 2019. The movies were produced by Pixar Animation Studios and werereleased by Walt Disney Pictures. The movie does not only revolve around toys as it has its own story to tell and so many lessons to be learned especially for the young ones.

4. Lego Movie

The story revolves around a city of Lego bricks and living animated miniatures. The movie is also about adventure and saving the lives of everybody. This movie is great for kids especially those who love Lego toys. The movie was released in February 2014 by Village Roadshow Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures, produced by Dan Li and Roy Lee and directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord. The movie was based on the Lego construction Toys sold nationwide and loved by the kids out there especially boys. After the film, it expanded into franchise but still under the Lego brand. This includes, The Lego Movie Sequel, The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie to be released in the year 2017.

5. Bratz (film)

Bratz movie was inspired on the Bratz dolls and cartoon characters. This movie is released in 2007 and is an American movie with musical, comedy and action theme. The film is about the life of the four teenage girl friends and how they were able to fight for their friendship and the encounters that they have to face during their teenage years. The movie was directed by Sean McNamara based on Bratz by Carter Bryant.
