![]() Remy Norton is also known as Carla Norton. She was born in 1976 in Belfast, Maine, and now resides in Hollywood, California with her husband, filmmaker Damon Wellner. In the last century (late nineties) Norton collaborated with her husband on the fashion doll soap-comedy FARRAH!. Norton wrote the script, and the saga was filmed by Wellner with fabulous doll performances, amazing human voice performances (including Eric Coburn's tour de force as Farrah) and facsinating if uneven miniature production design by Remy Norton herself. Norton is a founding partner of Wellner's "miniature" film studio PROBOT PRODUCTIONS, and continues to contribute to the small-scale productions. She designed and decorated a (somewhat alien-slimed) dollhouse for Probot's Alien 5 squared (2004), and is currently designing and creating the sets of The Gibbon, an original full-length film in production at Probot. Way, way back in the previous century, Norton co-wrote a song called "I Don't Love You" with a band (unfortunately) called VeronicaBlackMorpheusNipple. Over the years she has occasionally written pop lyrics, and was lucky enough to have two of her efforts - "Tender Lies" and "Smoke Machine" - become songs for the phenomenal band FREEZEPOP. Remy Norton has been "writing" fiction since 1980, when at the age of three-and-a-half or four, she dictated two books to her mother (including The Girl Who Went to Disneyland in the Morning and the Nighttime Too). Hopefully, Gossip Kills will be the first of a long series of mystery novels and thrillers. Ms. Norton is currently at work on her second book, tentatively titled Cursed Cinema. Remy Norton's favorite writers are: Agatha Christie, Evelyn Waugh, Barbara Pym, Patricia Highsmith, P.G. Wodehouse, Daphne Du Maurier, Sue Grafton, Emily Bronte, Margaret Kennedy, Jane Austen and Elmore Leonard. In addition to her husband, Norton lives with three very mature cats Jack, Polly, and Truman (the baby of the family, at age ten). The portrait of the author was painted by her mother, Denise Remy of Belfast, Maine. |
